Slip lane Is The Main Usher Street Exit And Must Be Clear At All Times: FRA

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is advising members of the public, especially market vendors not to park their vehicles on Stinson Parade Bridge and to conduct all their business inside the Usher Street market area.

FRA network operations and maintenance general manager Aram Goes says they are reminding the public that the slip lane at the Harris Street end is the main Usher Street exit and it must be clear at all times.

“On Scott Street we have now reinstated the original one way three lane traffic (in front of Tappoos and Village 6) with a no right-turn off Stinson Parade Bridge into Edward Street,” Mr Goes said.

He said there would be no more right turns off the bridge into Edward Street and a heavy cone layout at that Stinson/Edward Intersection will control this.

“We have advised the Village 6 management and the traffic ushers on duty that they are not to allow left turn exits from Village 6 Car Park,” Mr Goes said.

The Usher St access of the Suva Market will be a Suva City Council controlled market delivery access only.

Trucks and buses are not permitted to enter this section of Usher Street and can now use the safer alternative along Scott Street onto Edward Street.
