A 41-year-old Kadavu man will have his plea heard in the Suva Magistrates Court on February 2 for a charge of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.

Ratu Kadavulevu Sivonaivalu’s bail was extended by Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama after he appeared before the court last Thursday.

Sivonaivalu’s lawyer requested the court if the defence could be served with a copy of the charge sheet on the next date.

On November 10 last year without lawful authority the accused allegedly cultivated 21 plants of illicit drugs namely Indian Hemp or botanically known as Cannabis Sativa weighing three kilograms.

He was arrested after a Police team went to Kadavu for a drug operation.
