Protesters during the Fiji Trades Union Congress organised march in Nadi on Saturday, January 13, 2018.

The search for a resolution to the current impasse has resulted in the two parties, Air Terminal Services and the Air Terminal Services Employees Trust (ATSET) appearing before the Employment Relations Tribunal in Suva yesterday.

ATS Human Resources Manager Richard Donaldson said the move was initiated by ATS.

“We initiated the talks today because we want to find a quick resolution to this whole thing,” he said.

Mr Donaldson said their prime concern was ending the impasse so that everything could return to normal.

“The unions objected to some aspects of the proceedings and now they have finally accepted it and we will move forward now,” he said.

Mr Donaldson said that both parties would now return to continue with their own discussions.

“The next hearing will be held on Saturday,” he said.

“But both parties are adamant that a resolution be reached so we can move on.”
