The Steven Dowse-coached Hong Kong team is in the country to make their debut at the Uprising Youth 7s at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka today.

This is the first time for the team to play outside Asia.

The side is in Pool E with Northern Sprit, Nailaga (Ba), and Ra Barbarians.

“It will be a tough competition but that’s the reason we came here to challenge ourselves,” Dowse said.

“We expect Fijians to be physical and fast which is something we are looking forward to.”

Some of the players that are expected to make an impact are flyers Paul Altier, Max Denmark, Henry Pune and few others that played in the World Rugby Trophy competitions.

The one-day event is part of the 2018 Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7’s at the Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

 

U19 Pool A: Defending champions Tuva , Lomavata Kangaroos, Ratu Filise Youth, Togobula;

Pool B: Kings 7s Select, Skylink Natabua Beez, Fiji Rugby Academy Two, Dratabu;

Pool C: Fiji Rugby Academy, Pacific Island Air Yasawa Youth, Ravuka Sharks and Davetalevu;

Pool D: Cuvu Blues, Nasaunivalu, RKS, First Light Taveuni,

Pool E: Hong Kong Youth, Northern Sprit, Nailaga, Ra Barbarians

Pool F: Kris Wesley College (NZ), Cuvu Marine, Sigatoka River Safari Henibua, Malolo.
