Unplanned Power Outages Affects Power Supply

Underground Cable Fault, Suva

There was an unplanned power outage at 11:26am this morning, Wednesday 17th January, 2018 which caused a power disruption to our valued customers in parts of Suva.

With two underground cable faults in various stages of repair, a third underground cable failed causing unplanned outages to part of Suva including Nasese, Domain, Gordon Street, Ratu Sukuna Road, Flagstaff, Richards Road, Hamilton Beattie and the adjacent areas.

Power supply to Ratu Sukuna Road and Flagstaff was restored at 12:24pm via alternate ‘back feed’ cables.

Power supply to the remaining areas was restored at 2:47pm after FEA teams completed repairs on one of the failed cables.

Repair work on the remaining two cable faults are expected to be completed over the next two days.

The FEA sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers due to this unplanned power outage.
