Rewa On Track For Skipper Cup: Secake

After a lapse of four years the newly rejuvenated Rewa side aims to showcase their style of rugby in this year’s Skipper Cup competition.
Team manager Sakiusa Secake said they were aware of the fact they would be playing against the giants of provincial rugby in Fiji when competition starts in April.
“We have an idea of what we are up against but our aim is to maintain our position in the Skipper Cup at the end of the season,”Secake said.
“And we want to showcase our “Rewa style” of rugby.”
Like other teams in the Skipper Cup competition, Rewa also competed in the Fiji Rugby Union -sanctioned Skipper Cup Rugby 10s competition.
The one day tournament was held at the Bidesi and Buckhurst grounds last Saturday.
“This competition was a good preparation platform for us as it helped us in gauging our performance against the top teams who will be competing in the Skipper Cup,” Secake said
With the national 10s team names yet to be announced, Secake said it would be a morale booster for them if some of their players were picked.
“But overall we are satisfied with our performance and learning many things and I believe we are on track in our preparations.”
The Rewa side is coached by former Fiji Airways Flying Fijians captain Ro Alivereti Doviverata.
