Dutt Faces High Court

Escape convict Deshwar Kishore Dutt appeared before two high court judges on separate charges on Wednesday.
Dutt, who is presently serving a 15 year sentence for robbery related crimes, first appeared before Justice Paul Madigan at the High Court in Lautoka.
In this instance, he faced two counts of aggravated robbery and was remanded till February 1 when he will re-appear for mention.
In the next sitting, he appeared before Justice Sunil Sharma charged with one count of aggravated burglary and a second count of theft.
Justice Sharma adjourned the case to January 31 for mention.
Dutt was recaptured on January 3 in swamps at Vuda, Lautoka after escaping from the Nadi Magistrate’s court on December 15, 2017.
Since then, seven people have been charged and taken to court for allegedly assisting him in his escape and for harbouring him.
