Unity Fiji Party launches Unity News VIDEO

I am inviting women to please apply to be one of our candidates and also I would like to get young people involved in this Unity Team for the 2018 election, says Unity Fiji Party leader Savenaca Narube

The Unity Fiji Party yesterday launched its first edition of Unity News on their social media outlet.

The Unity News was live on their Facebook page yesterday in which the party leader, Savenaca Narube, explained the formation of the party and phases they would be taking as a build up to the 2018 General Elections.

In the clip, Mr Narube said they were targeting 51 candidates but if they were not able, they would come down to 35 members to vie for a seat.

He said the party was hoping to announce the list of candidates by mid-February and at the same time release their draft manifesto.

“We are looking at people that have proven themselves either in public service or community work,” Mr Narube said.

“We are also looking at increasing the number of women if we can. I am inviting women to please apply to be one of our candidates and also like to get young people involved in this Unity Team for the 2018 elections.”

He said the Unity Fiji Party would bring positive changes to the people of Fiji.

“We will bring to the people a new leadership. A new leadership that has members who have proven themselves, that have actually done or showed us what they can do in their own experiences,” he said.

“And bring fresh ideas that can lift the discussion so we can have a resolution on many of our long standing issues.

“The other change is on economic and social development.

“We know what we are doing, we have proven ourselves in these fields and we would like to bring new ideas to economic and social development especially to green development down to the ordinary family and the ordinary people.”

Meanwhile, applications for the party candidate closes on January 20.
