Youths need to fulfill their sporting talents for the good of the country, says Mohammed Rifayaaz Khan.

The ALL-MAKE Group of Companies director is sponsoring Fiji’s featherweight boxing champion Krishna Mudaliar who will be fighting Ulaiasi Qalomai on February 2 at Novotel Hotel Suva Lami Bay in the Westwood Boxing Promotion..

“Fiji has a lot of sporting talents all across the board but what they need is support,” Khan said.

“Mudaliar is one of such talents and who knows, he can be representing Fiji one day and become a prominent fighter let alone a world champion.”

He said one of the reasons he supported sports was mainly due to the impact it had on youths.

“Supporting them is important because it boosts their morale and helps lighten up their struggle during their preparation.”

“But more importantly it keeps them focused on succeeding in their sports and keeps them away from participating in criminal activities.”

Khan said there had been times when Fijian athletes fell short of achieving historic feats mainly due to the difference in standards of preparations compared to other overseas athletes..

“We should keep supporting whether in cash or kind, because at the end of the day when our athletes win, we all win,” he said.

He urged all Fijians especially business owners to show more support for sports.
