Coach Sharon Smith said preparations’ on track and they would participate in local events as part of their build-up.

“Our preparation is going very well, so far so good but the only challenge now is the nerves. But apart from that everything is okay,” Smith said.

Fiji Swimming have four athletes in their extended squad Cheyenne Rova, Taichi Vakasama, Matelita Buadromo and Epeli Ralovo.

Smith said their squad would be flying out for week-long camp in Gold Coast

“They will also be participating in the annual Long Course Grand Prix at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Suva in February and March,” Smith said.

She said they would be using the two events as preparation platforms for the four-yearly event.
