Tuwai Sets 2018 targets

There is only one Pio, onus on him to deliver: Waisale Serevi
Pio Tuwai is gunning for a spot at the Commonwealth Games in April and the Rugby Sevens World Cup in July.
He aims to reclaim his spot in the team and featured in the Mana Whey Coral Coast Sevens playing for McDonald’s Saunaka.
“My next aim is the RSWC and Commonwealth Games since I did miss out on the 2016 Rio Olympics,” he said.
Tuwai will return to New Zealand in two weeks’ time to join his Clifton Rugby Club.
“But first I need to work hard on my fitness,” Tuwai said.
Sevens legend Waisale Serevi said the onus is on the Votua, Ba native to prove his worth.
“Pio is Pio and there is no other Pio in this world,” Serevi said.
“He is a very effective player and he could be selected for the RSWC or the Commonwealth Games.
“But it has to come from Pio. When he is fit he performs incredible things. I love watching him with his footwork and offloads.
Former national sevens coach Ben Ryan said: “It is great to see him play, I am sure there are few boys that are trying their best to catch the eye of coach Gareth Baber to be in the training squad.”
