Playmaker Vatemo Ravouvou aims to be a better player if he is recalled by Fiji Airways Fijian 7s coach Gareth Baber.

Ravouvou and John Stewart were not included in the Sydney leg of the World Sevens Series for disciplinary reasons during the first leg in Dubai-Cape Town last month.

“I am content and have accepted the decision,” the Rio Olympics gold medal winner said at Lawaqa Park yesterday.

“My work is clearly cut out and I aim to be a better player. But I need to train harder and hope I get the eye of the selectors and Baber again.”

Ravouvou says missing out on selection means that he can also rest and ponder on his future.

“It’s definitely a time of reflection for me while my body rests and ponder on the direction I need to take,” he said.

The focus for the seasoned playmaker now is the Commonwealth Games in April  and Rugby Sevens World Cup in San Francisco in July.

He is part of the McDonald’s Saunaka side featuring Pio Tuwai, Kitione Taliga and Masivesi Dakuwaqa at the 2018 Mana Whey Coral Coast Sevens.
