All units of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Land Force Command (LFC) have started its shooting competition at Rifle Range in Vatuwaqa on January 25, 2018.

The chief guest at the competition was the Chief of Staff Land Force Command (COS LFC) Lieutenant-Colonel (LtCol) Silipa Druavesi Vananalagi.

Lt Col Vananalagi told participants that the purpose of conducting the competition was to upgrade their skills and marksmanship in order to prepare themselves for future deployments to various peacekeeping missions.

“Do your best today and try to be one of the top 16 that will represent the institution in Australia in May this year”, Lt Col Vananalagi emphasised.

She encouraged the troops to perform to their very best and groom themselves to the standard that was expected of them.

Shooting master coach Warrant Officer Class One Bera said the shooting competition was to identify the shooting skills of our personnel.

“This is very important for us to understand because it is our primary role that is required of us while serving in a mission overseas”, Mr Bera concluded.
