The Tailevu Rugby Union had their JBT Memorial 10s tournament as they move towards revitalising the passion, belief and confidence of the province towards supporting the 2018 campaign.

Union secretary Josefa Turaganivalu said yesterday the tournament was also dedicated to one of their members who recently passed away Ratu Josaia Bose Tagicakibau.

“At the moment we want to win back the hearts, confidence, belief and passion of the people of Tailevu to support their team for this year’s Vanua campaign,” Turaganivalu said.

He said their 10s tournament was organised for getting their clubs involved and geared up for the new rugby season.

“We are happy with the response from the clubs, and this is a good indicator that we still have those that still want to represent Tailevu and take their team back to the Skipper Cup competition.”

He said they had a lot of work on their hands in terms of rebuilding their union.

“We are under new management and it will be different this year, as we look to work our way back to the top of Fiji Rugby.”

The tournament will continue next week
