The Fijian Baseball Under-15 team won a bronze medal at the 2018 Baseball Confederation of Oceania’s U15 Championship at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga, New Zealand.

The competition was to determine which country qualifies from the Oceania region to World Baseball and Softball Confederation U15 World Cup in Panama.

The Australians who were unbeaten proved too strong as they won gold and will represent Oceania region while New Zealand came second winning the silver.

The Fijians and New Caledonia played for the bronze medal playoff. After three games the Fijian boys gained confidence and from the first pitch they were aggressive at bat and drove in 12 runs in the first inning then they just gained momentum ending the game in the third inning due to the tournament rules. Fiji walloped New Caledonia by 18 runs to 2.
