There were no casualties involved in an accident between an ambulance and a taxi at the Laqere Market, Nasinu, yesterday.

The accident took place when it was raining heavily.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the accident involved a National Fire Authority (NFA) ambulance and a taxi. The impact of the accident forced the taxi to crash into a makeshift vendor’s stall located at the roadside.

She said: “No one was injured or taken to the hospital, and there was no emergency run for the ambulance.”

It is believed that the taxi and the ambulance were on their way to Suva when the accident happened.

NFA’s media liaison officer Ritesh Kumar said they were still trying to find more details about the accident and declined to comment any further.
