The Rewa football side aim to score their first win in the Vodafone Premier League on Sunday.

After going down 2-3 to Suva in the first round, the Delta Tigers play Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park at 3pm

Rewa Football Association president Nazeel Buksh said they are yet to finalise their squad as the Fiji Football Association transfer window closes today.

“We haven’t named the final squad for the Vodafone Premier League match this week as we still waiting on the player transfer window to close,” Buksh said.

“Looking at our first match against Suva where we lost in a close encounter 3-2, I feel defence was one area that we needed a lot of work on.

“Also, with the inclusion of Josevata Naibuli and few other experienced players in the side we hope to get our defence sorted and score our first win.

“We have been training well with a good turnout and we will reduce the squad to 22.

“Players from other districts want to join us but we will wait for the right time to make that decision.”

Buksh also said that they are expecting a tough competition from the Nadi side this weekend.

“Nadi is one of the tough teams in the competition and they are the only district that managed to retain all their players in 2018,” he added.

“As far as I am aware they had been no movement of players from Nadi so they basically not affected by the Fiji FA transfer window.

“Unlike for us we had experienced a lot of distractions in terms of trying to get our team together.

“I believe Nadi will come fully prepared for this match but again despite losing out on some players we still have some capable players we can count on.’

In the other Vodafone Premier League match, Labasa play Dreketi 1.30pm at Subrail Park on Saturday.
