Behind the Viking Sun bar beverage manager Walter Nisi confidently greets his customers with bula.

This is because he is no stranger to the port of Suva. While this is Viking Sun ’s inaugural trip it is his fifth to Fiji.

“I love visiting the Fiji ports because of the warm tropical weather and bula smiles that every Fijian has – it makes us feel at home,” the 46-year-old Italian said.

Mr Nisi has built himself a reputation in the hospitality industrywith his skills.

“I am a renowned expert at overseeing all of the food and beverage operations within the bar area and have a long track record of exceeding customer expectations, ensuring total guest satisfaction and maximising repeat custom,” Mr Nisi said.

“I never underestimate the value of a smile and a warm welcome, and always go out of my way to give both to my customers,” he said.

He started off as a bartender when he was 19. He studied online and graduated from the Harvard Business School management in 2016.

He was bar manager for the Venice Simplon Orient Express for 10-years before joining Viking Sun May last year.

It was then that he dropped in at Suva Port four times.

On board Viking Sun he oversees eight bars and 32 crew members as staff.

“On a personal level I am highly organised, well presented.

“I articulate and possess superb communication skills.

“I am committed to a career in the hospitality industry,” he said.
