Notify FEA In Case Of Broken Lines: Patel
FEA chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel.

The Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) yesterday made a request to members of the public to contact their emergency number on 913 if they notice any broken or low sagging power lines in their area.

“Your prompt call could result in someone’s life being saved,” said FEA chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel.

“The FEA personnel at the FEA National Control Centre have the ability to switch off the power supply within seconds if they are informed of any hazardous or low lying power lines.”

Mr Patel said it was advisable to stay away from FEA power lines.

“For flood prone areas, we request the residents to call FEA on rising water levels that compromises power line clearance,” he said.

All other queries can be directed to 132-333. But for emergencies call 913.
