Australian High Commissioner visits Police Commissioner

The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes expressed his appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for keeping Australian tourists safe as well as the many citizens that are either here for work or have come to call Fiji home
He paid a courtesy call to the Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho last week.
Director International Relations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula said the two discussed matters of cooperation considering Fiji’s reputation as being the hub of the Pacific.
“Transnational crime was discussed at length and with the recent success of joint operations which has benefited both Fiji and Australia and the Pacific region. Initial discussions mainly revolved around further strengthening of Police cooperation”.
The Fiji Police works closely with the Australian Federal Police and have recently recorded success stories on the interception of hard drugs.
SSP Ravula said the High Commissioner acknowledged the hard work put in by officers in keeping their citizens safe.
