The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team tops Pool A for the USA 7s in Las Vegas on March 2-4.

Following their 24-17 victory over South Africa in the Hamilton 7s cup final the Gareth Baber coached side tops Pool A alongside Kenya,France Russia.

In Pool B South Africa will play England, Canada and Wales. Australia, winners of the Sydney 7s and Bronze final in Hamilton, are drawn in Pool C with Samoa, USA and Spain.

New Zealand will face Scotland, Argentina and invitational team Uruguay in Pool D.

Head Coach Gareth Baber said they would continue the hard work.

“We are going back to Fiji, work hard and develop our game even more and obviously not lose what we good at,” Baber said.

With the win in Hamilton last night the Fijian 7s team is now third on the Sevens Series standing with 62 points while South Africa leads the table with 77 points New Zealand in second place with 69 points.

Amenoni Nasilasila is ranked number three in the DHL Series performance tracker with 159 points behind Seabelo Senatla who tops the table with 179 points and Ben O’Donnell in second place with 162 points.

Speedster Eroni Sau is on fifth place with 151 points.
