The opening of the refurbished community hall in Nabua would be a financial resource for the Nabua Rugby Club.

“We are wanted to do our part because when our new Community Hall opens, it will not only benefit the club but the members of the Nabua and the surrounding communities in the Suva area,” said Nabua Club House Community Hall Saiyasi Fuli said.

The newly constructed hall will be officially opened by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the end of February.

It stands where their 50-year-old hall used to be and according to Fuli it will be a platform for change for their club especially for their youths in the area.

“This is part of community development, something that we want as a club to build and work on holistically, because it will benefit our younger generations,” Fuli said.

He said the hall could also be a source of income for the club in terms of hosting social events like birthdays and camps.

“These are just some mentioned benefits but we will work on it from there, moving forward to a self-sustaining rugby club,” he said.

Plants and flowers were being planted and added by some finishing touch-ups to the compound.

“We are preparing it for the official opening and everyone is looking forward to it,” Fuli said.

The Nabua Rugby Club is one of the oldest in Fiji that produced many of Fiji’s Rugby finest in Tomasi Cama Snr, Waisale Serevi, the Rauluni brothers in Vesi, Peni and Viliame, Saiasi Fuli, Pauliasi Tabulutu, Alivereti Dere and many others.
