Best friends Lilia Taonia and Mohammed Raza have been badged as heads of Jai Narayan College.

The two 18-year-olds were happy to be chosen and now aim to help discipline the students.

Headgirl Lilia said: “To be given the responsibility to lead the school is a big achievement for me.”

She said she was proud and ready to take up the responsibility and lead the students by providing a good example.

Speaking about Mohammed, she said: “We are best friends and will work hard to take the school to an­other level.

“We should be good role models for other students who will be the upcoming leaders for JNC.”

Mohammed also spoke about be­ing proud of being appointed head­boy

“We will both have to work hard throughout the year to make JNC proud and keep our banner flying high.

“We have a lot of things planned for the year. This includes team building exercises and it will all start next week.

“We have a great team and there is much collaboration with each and every person in the school,” he said.

“I want to top the school again for this Year 13 exam and set a good re­cord.

“I know a lot of people are backing me up. I’m really thankful for all their support,” Mohammed said.
