The High Court in Suva, on February 20, will hear the bail application of a Kadavu man, who is alleged to have cultivated 15 kilograms of cannabis sativa (marijuana).
The accused, Viliame Kawa, was alleged to have possessed the illicit drugs on January 12, 2018.
The 38-year-old is represented by Suva lawyer Tobia Ravuniwa.
State lawyer Wakesa Elo confirmed receiving the accused’s bail application and sought 14 days to file a response.
Judge Justice Daniel Goundar gave the State time until February 16 to respond to Kawa’s bail application.
The accused was further remanded in custody and the case adjourned for bail hearing.
