Coral Coast Power To Be Restored By 6pm Today

The transmission line carrying power to Fiji Electricity Authority customers along the Coral Coast tripped, causing an unplanned power outage.

A statement from the Authority said the incident happened at 9:30am today, Wednesday 7th February, 2018.

“FEA teams conducted a line patrol and identified the cause of outage to be a broken cross arm at Olo-olo.”

The outage affects power supply to the customers in the following area:

Sovi Bay, Vatukarasa, Balenabelo, Koroinatu, Namada, Natugua, Hideaway, Taqage, Maui Bay,

Nagasau, Votua Housing, Votualailai Village, Votua Village, Naviti Resort, Korolevu, Qalito and Warwick Resort.

The Authority further said: “This unplanned power outage resulted from hardware failure, and while we do our utmost to prevent such failures, it is impossible to completely eliminate them.

“Our teams are currently working on repair works and power supply to the affected customers is expected to be restored by 6:00pm today.”

The FEA sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused to their valued customers due to the unplanned power outage.
