The Suva Magistrates Court yesterday remanded a foreigner in custody, charged with one count of smoking in an aircraft.
On February 5, 2018 Xichun Liu is alleged to have smoked in an aircraft namely Fiji Airways flight number FJ392 when smoking was prohibited by a notice to that effect and on behalf of the pilot in command of the aircraft.
Police Prosecutor Constable Walter Taito sought for the accused to be further remanded in custody and to be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court pending a formal bail application.
Suva Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa adjourned the case to February 20, 2018 for mention.
