Former Ba player and national striker Taito Bula believes that Vodafone Ba side will have another daunting task in the 2018 OFC Champions League.

The Nailaga native did not mince words when the Vodafone Ba Football side departed for Vanuatu yesterday.

“How can they perform in the O-League when they are not performing very well in the domestic competition,” he said.

“The team need to do some soul searching. It is just not connecting from the coach to the players and it is a pity that this has happened.”

The Laisenia Raura-captained Vodafone Ba football side will be playing Nalkutan FC in its first OFC Champions League match this Saturday at 6pm.

The ‘Men in Black’ have represented Fiji 10 times in the O-League with their best finish being in 2007 where they ended as runners-up.

“It will be a big test, but we wish them well,” Bula said.

Other teams in Pool A are Lae City Dwellers (PNG), and Tupapa Maraerenga FC.

Bula represented Ba from 1988 to 1999 and had a single season with Lautoka before quitting.

He was a member of the team which won gold at the Pacific Games in Lae, PNG in 1991.
