SODELPA management has not condemned its sitting Member of Parliament Mosese Bulitavu for spreading a doctored video on social media, aimed at discrediting Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

SODELPA general secretary, lawyer Adi Litia Qionibaravi said:

“MPs, by virture of being elected by voters, are empowered to make public statements.  I have yet to sight the subject FB posting and may react after that.  There are lots of videos floating around on the Internet, YouTube, Facebook, snappville (sic), bebo and so forth.

“We respect the rights of individuals in the party to do things responsibly with the media policy in mind.

“SODELPA has a media policy which candidates and  party members including volunteers are expected to comply with.  The policy, approved by the Management Board, will be included in our webiste when launched.”

She was sent a copy of the video by the Fiji Sun but had not responded when this edition went to press.
