Team monitors weather situation

A team of Government officers under the direction of the Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea, is monitoring the weather situation at their headquarters in Labasa.
This was confirmed by Mr Vocea yesterday.
“We are sending reports to National Disaster Management Committee (DISMAC) every six hours and we collate updates from all sectors,” Mr Vocea said.
“Nothing much is happening except for some roads being closed as reported by Fiji Roads Authority.
“We had a meeting with heads of departments yesterday to look at the current weather pattern and prepare ourselves for the upcoming Tropical Disturbance TD07F in the next 48 hours,” he said.
“It is currently located near Vanuatu and is expected to move towards Fiji and may gradually intensify into a depression and possibly affect the group from tomorrow.
