Senior Superintendent of Police Semisi Bokadi will be laid to rest today at his home village of Namatakula in Nadroga

The Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) passed away at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) on February 4, 2018 after a short illness.

The 55-year-old joined the Fiji Police force in 1982 and in 2015 he was appointed as the director CID, before he passed away.

SSP Bokadi is survived by his wife, Lusiana Tagicakibau Bokadi, 55, and four children and three grandchildren.

According to Mrs Bokadi he always got along well with everyone.

“He was a simple and humble man who was good to everyone in the community, in church, at his workplace and also at home,” she said.

“His bubbly and down to earth personality will be missed.”

Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said the force was deeply saddened by SSP Bokadi’s death as he was a man of vast knowledge and experience in the field of investigations.

“He was contracted for another year because of his wealth of knowledge. He will be missed by the policing family,” Brigadier-General Qiliho said.

Meanwhile the current Deputy Director of CID Superintendent of Police Mesake Waqa has been appointed as the new Director.
