A Nasinu man who allegedly stole a Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone worth $300 was advised to file his bail application in the Nasinu Magistrates Court.

The accused, Solomoni Vereibula, appeared before Suva Magistrate Waleen George on Wednesday charged with one count each of theft and escaping from lawful custody.

The accused allegedly stole the phone on January 27, 2018 and escaped from Police custody on February 2, 2018.

He waived his right to have a lawer when it was put to him in court and, was remanded until February 14, 2018 when his bail application is expected to be heard.

Police prosecutor Constable Setareki Mocevakaca appeared for the Prosecution.
