Police Probe Accident Involving A Govt Vehicle

Police are investigating an accident in Navua yesterday that involved a Government vehicle.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said a Fiji Corrections Services vehicle was travelling to Suva from Lautoka when it veered off the road.

Ms Naisoro said the vehicle which landed in a drain had hit an electric post in Navua.

She said the driver escaped injuries and was being questioned.

The Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) sent a text message to all its customers in Navua that were affected by the accident earlier that morning.

FEA stated they had received a call on the power outage after the accident.

The post was repaired and electricity normalised hours later.
