Veiuto Primary School on Friday badged 40 students as prefects of 2018 at the school premises.

During the induction the prefects made a solemn promise to uphold discipline as their first priority. The school caters for 1200 students and 28 teachers.

Immanuel Vaurasi, 14, said being badged as the headboy came with great responsibilities, but he was up for the challenge. He is also the class captain.

Sounding very proud he said he was the first sibling in the family to be named headboy.

“My parents are super excited because they thought there were other students who had equal potential of being named headboy,” said Immanuel.

The young teenager aspires to be a ship engineer and is ambitious to complete his studies on a high note.

“I want to pass my exams with higher marks,” he said.

“I will do my best to be a good headboy.”
