The Denarau marine is expected to be a major contributor to the $2.2bn expected in 2021 as Fiji’s major industry, tourism continues to grow.

For its contribution Port Denarau Marina proprietors are banking on their commercial operators who call Port Denarau Marina home.

The Port Denarau Marina recently opened its secondary check-in facility, Fiji’s premium marina facility.

Port Denarau Marina general manager Cynthia Rasch said this inventory was also the gateway to the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands – opening a new extension structure to expand its passenger check-in facilities.

“With a total capital investment of $700,000, the extension aims to meet the demand of growing commercial requirements in view of the growth of the tourism industry in Fiji,” Ms Rasch said.

Port Denarau Marina’s decision to build this extension was due to the fact that the Passenger Terminal completed in 2009 and designed to house 15 check-in kiosks, was continually booked to capacity.

Ms Rasch added Baytex of Tauranga provided a suitable architectural design solution to meet both the Fijian building code and functional all weather requirements.
