EMPLOYMENT MINISTER CONTINUES WITH SEASONAL WORK TOUR IN NEW ZEALAND

The Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Jone Usamate will be meeting with Fijian seasonal workers currently deployed under the New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Work Scheme.
During his week-long tour to New Zealand, Minister Usamate will conduct meetings with high-level stakeholders and meet with the Fijian seasonal workers.
Minister Usamate is expected to visit Fijians and employers in Hawkes Bay, Alexandra and Blenheim with the objective to explore opportunities to recruit more Fijians under the seasonal work scheme in New Zealand.
Talanoa sessions were held with the Fijian community in Wellington at the Taranaki Methodist Parish Hall this week.
The minister will also visit Cromwell in Blenheim and the Centre Park in Auckland on February 17, 2018. Minister Usamate also met with the New Zealand Minister for Immigration Iain Lees-Galloway and Parliamentary Under-Secretary Fletcher Tabuteau in Wellington earlier this week.
The visit was a continuation from the Australian leg last week where he also met with Fijian seasonal workers.
