The 2017 Nasinu Futsal League has been hailed as a successful one, says NFL chairman Shalendra Goundar.

He told SUNsports this was made possible through divine intervention and the support of Fiji Football Association chief executive Mohammed Yusuf, Amitesh Pal, Futsal development officers Ronald Ram and Mira Sahib.

“We are not forgetting our two referees Amitesh Bihari and Ravitesh Bihari who took out their valuable time to be available whenever we had a match,” he said.

“Also, we would like to thank all team officials of NFA especially Rohit Lingam, Nishant Singh and Navin Reddy for all their hard work and support for making 2017 NFL a successful one.”

Goundar said NFA started in 2016 with eight teams.

“Last year we again had eight teams competing. They are Attack FC, Nadogo Boys, Brother Strike, NorthWest United, 3R FC, Western FC, Medics and Level 6.

“There were two rounds of game whereby each team had to play 14 matches of 20 minutes aside. All games were played at Fiji FA court in Vatuwaqa. Due to rain, the Fiji FA court became slippery therefore we had to differ some of our matches.”
He said at the end of competition, Attack FC and Nadogo Boys were the top teams.

“Both teams played 13 matches with one match pending to play to decide the winner. Currently Attack FC is the only team that is undefeated and is leading the points table with 35 whereas Nadogo Boys has 34,” he added.
