Practice Good Behaviour For Others To Follow: Singh

Children ought to practice good behavior before it could be inculcated to others.
This was the message from the Dakshina India Andhra Sangam of Fiji (DIAS) Representative Umendra Singh to the newly appointed prefects of the Lautoka Andhra Sangam School. He said this during the prefects’ induction at the school yesterday.
Mr Reddy said prefects are there to assist teachers in the running of the school so they play a major role as well.
“You prefects will assist and help the teachers in the daily activities of the school, and also throughout the year,” Mr Reddy said.
“So you as children will have to first behave with good manners in order for others to be able to follow in your ways.”
School principal Vinay Singh applauded the parents and guardians for their support despite the weathers condition.
“It is good to see parents and guardians coming in numbers as they braved the rain and winds just to witness their children on this special day,” he said.
“These are the qualities that our students need to see, knowing that they will be our leaders in this 21st century. Today they are the leaders of the school, tomorrow they will be national leaders, it all begins here.”
Newly inducted headgirl, Shazlin Nisha, has assured the students of her school that she would guide them onto the right path.
“I feel honored to receive this badge and I will fulfill my duties to the best of my abilities,” Ms Nisha said.
“We will guide the students and with the best of our ability lead them in the right way and never discriminate anyone who will need my help.”
76 prefects were badged yesterday, with 40 class prefects, 20 environment prefects and 16 school prefects.
