Solution To Drugs Starts At Home: Qiliho

Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said the solution of drugs cultivation started at home and not building more Police posts.
“Even some places we are currently raiding we can’t even stop the cultivation of marijuana there like in Navosa, this problem should be solved from home,” said Brigadier-General Qiliho.
Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho was speaking yesterday while responding to queries during a talanoa session in Ba when villagers requested if a Police post could be set up near their village to curb the problem.
In responses, Commissioner Qiliho said that the root of the problem should be solved from home.
“If we put a Police post there, it will never take away the illegal cultivation of marijuana, this is the truth,” he said.
Commissioner Qiliho said the construction of a new Police post would depend on the population and crime rate of that particular area.
“We can build more Police posts but the problem is there won’t be any Police officer in it because right now if you see there is always one Police officer at each Police post because we are facing a shortage of Police officers,” he said.
Commissioner Qiliho added that they would be traveling around the country to raise more awareness on the impact of marijuana through community policing.
