Christina Eyes Fijiana Jumper

Size and age does not matter for 14-year-old, Nadi Blazers 7s winger Christina Shaniya Prasad as she pursues her dream to don the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s jumper.
“I love playing rugby and for me to be given a chance to play in this tournament is a good start and yes I’m aiming to become a Fijiana in the future,” she said.
The Maharisi Sanatan College Year 9 student said, it has always been her dream of representing her country in the World Sevens Series. She could very well be the first Indo-Fijian player if she gets selected.
“I’m not intimidated nor am I scared of playing against the older and heavier players, I just want to go out there and do my best to help my team win.”
Prasad said she always wanted to be like the great Fijian 7s maestro Waisale Serevi.
“He is my favourite player and I just want to play like him.”
The youngster plays wing for the Blazers side that are playing at the Ram Sami Nasinu Rugby 7s tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
The competition continues today.
