Students meet 7s heroes

Cheers echoed all across the halls of Cautata District School as students and parents greeted the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team, in Bau, Tailevu, yesterday.
Head coach Gareth Baber said it was a good opportunity for the players to meet and greet the people they are playing for.
“This is part of our visit to the schools and communities also for the players to know how much support they have from all across Fiji,” Baber said.
He said it was good for the players to connect with the Fijian communities.
Baber was accompanied by assistant coach Saiasi Fuli, manager Jone Niurua, Isake Katonibau, Paula Dranisinukula, Alosio Naduva, Batinisavu Uluiyata, Eroni Sau and captain Seremaia Tuwai.
Cautata District School head teacher Sailosi Kama said it was meaningful for them considering the theme for the prefect induction.
“The theme for our prefects’ induction is leadership and responsibilities. This is also a good treat for our students who can see our national sevens players as a good role model,” Kama said.
The students surrounded the players throughout the event.
