Tour Managers Fiji welcomes increased visitor arrivals from China

Tour Managers Fiji have seen a significant increase in the number of Chinese travelers to Fiji for the New Year Holidays this year.
The company welcomed over 1,000 Chinese guests during the New Year period which again complemented its continued marketing efforts in China and within the local tourism industry. In comparison to 2016, arrival numbers showed a 20 per cent increase for the Chinese New Year period.
Tour Managers Fiji continued to significantly increase its investments into the Chinese market through constant support of Tourism Fiji marketing activities, familiarisation programmes organized for the Chinese travel trade and continued product seminars within Tier one and two cities in China throughout the calendar year.
Last year, Tour Managers Fiji spent over $200,000 in the Asian market alone for marketing and social media online activities. Several of these activities were in co-ordinated manner with in country dialogue meetings to local suppliers. This sustained communication and product assessment/feedback was critical for improving guest expectations and providing unique experiences for guests.
Tour Managers Fiji continues to confidentially push ahead to meet these guest expectations through unique experiences and smart cost effective packages that provide much needed returns in the form of employment and income for Fijians.
Investment increase this year
In 2018, Tour Managers Fiji will again increase investment in the Chinese market by increasing its permanent staffing levels in China to seven people. These staff will provide un-interrupted customer/reservation services for Chinese travelers in China. Time difference will not be an issue. The exponential growth in staffing levels will combine with Tour Managers Fiji sustained efforts to expand its custom built $100,000 online reservations system specific for the Chinese market allowing ease of booking on a 24/7 basis with various tools to assist.
Tour Managers Fiji managing director Damend Goundar said: “The Chinese market will continue to grow and it will be critical that guest expectations are met and exceeded specific to their needs.
“The continued robustness and evolvement of the Chinese travel trade structure and the need for Inbound Tour Operators in Fiji to work honestly and in mutual respect to understood norms is vital to extracting maximised returns for Fiji.”
