The Suva football side are determined to continue on their winning run against Lautoka in tomorrow’s Vodafone Premier League showdown at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

For the Whites the only way to do that is to maintain possession and keep the Blues at bay.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Suva football head coach Raiyaz Ali said preparations are on track as they are gunning for three points.

“We are pleased to have some senior players from Rewa joining us,” he said.

“Training has been going well and the players are all fit and injury free. And we are looking forward to a good game against Lautoka this Sunday.

“One main element of the play is that we will be focusing on to improve our finishing. So for that basically we need to hold on to possession throughout the game. Also, we have to play constructive football and make use of every opportunity during the game.

“Players are responding pretty well and are committed to their daily training sessions which is very encouraging to see.

“I have also seen that bonding and communication among the players have been positive.

“So, we will be completing our final training session today before we head down to the West on Sunday morning as we want the players to have ample rest time before the match.

“We are confident of a win against Lautoka and will try our best to keep the momentum on. Our main aim for this year is to win the League and qualify for the Oceania Football Confederations Champions League.”

However, Ali said, it was unfortunate that their matches had been postponed which almost killed the momentum of their progress.

“But nevertheless we hope to change that mindset and give our best performance this weekend. I would like to urge Suva fans to please come out in numbers and support the team,” he added.
