Winner for the Fiji Sun letter of the week for the month of November, Amrit Singh, was happy after being awarded a Philips dry Iron.

Mr Singh’s letter titled ‘Where is Love’?

According to Mr Singh the letter was based from his own experience.

The 23-year old said he was sitting at the Nausori Bus Stand one day while it was raining heavily; he was observing students crossing the road after late hours.

He said a blind man was sitting at the bus stand asking for help and students were just walking by and never helped him.

“So, I felt sorry for him I went and helped him cross the road to the Nausori Market.”

The Fiji National University student said “I went home and I shared with my parents how much life has changed for people in this world especially in Fiji. People are so distracted with social media and they are not able to focus on making the right decisions.”

Mr Singh is advising the young people walking on the street who are educated to think wisely and think of people with disability and stop thinking about their own self or being self-centered. We are human beings and it’s time to start thinking of helping others.

Mr Singh is a regular contributor to the Fiji Sun letters section since 2011. And this was the first time for him to win a prize.

He was quite excited after being selected as the winner and received his prize at Courts Mega in Samabula yesterday.
