The Dave Radrigai captained Lautoka Blues side have shiftted their focus to the 2018 OFC Champions League.

The Blues recently came from behind to pip Suva 2-1 in the Battle of the Cities in Lautoka over the weekend.

The Vodafone Premier League champions are drawn in ‘pool of death’ Group C with the defending and eight-time champions Auckland City FC, Papua New Guinea runner-up Madang FC and AS Venus from Tahiti.

Lautoka head coach Kamal Swamy said they have been working on their mistakes to improve for O’League.

“We are going to the O-league and we have some injuries and look at the mistake in the last game,” he said.

“There were some weakness we have to work on Right and left midfielders were not giving thrust in the attack that is one area we can capitalise on.”

Swamy was happy with the performance displayed by Praneel Naidu, Zibraaz Shahib, Solomon Imports Benjamin Totori and Brian Kaltak of Vanuatu were on fire for the side.

“We were casual in the first half and it gave us the message. So we started to press them high and win the ball in their half. That created them to move back,” he said.

“Benjamin Totori and Brian Kaltack have been playing well and gelling with the boys well so it is good to understand what’s Fijian soccer is all about now. They have given us a lot of experience.”

Meanwhile, the team management is yet to finalise travel documents for forward Zibraaz Shahib.

Lautoka will play their opening match against Madang in Auckland this Sunday.
