A teenager accused of sacrilege was further remanded in the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday.

Suliano Wainivanua, 19, appeared before Magistrate Sufia Hamza and requested for Legal Aid counsel.

Wainivanua is alleged to have broken into and entered the Vishnu Bhavan Temple with intent to commit theft.

The incident happened between January 15 to 16 this year.

The temple security guard discovered the break-in at about 5:45am on January 16 and reported it to the Police.

The accused was advised to file a formal bail application when he first appeared in court but because he failed to do so, Wainivanua was further remanded in custody.

The case was adjourned to March 7, 2018 for mention.

Police Prosecutor Constable Setareki Mocevakaca appeared on behalf of the State.
