The women of Nasavu Village in Nadi district, Bua have reaped the price of their hard work yesterday.

Yesterday the Minister for Forests Osea Naiqamu handed a cheque of $930 to the Nasavu Women’s Group.

Group leader Asinate Waqabitu said the money would help them in so many ways.

“We have a five-year plan and part of it is to build a bus stop for the village,” the mother of two said.

“At the moment we don’t have a a shelter when waiting for the bus.

“We thank the Government for its assistance and guidance for us to reach this far.”

Ms Waqabitu said the bus stop was really needed by the villagers.

“The bus stop will give proper shelter for school children when it rains and when waiting for the bus during sunny days,” the 55-year-old said.

“The money we received is more than enough. After building the bus stop I will sit with group members and see how much is left and how we can use it for other purposes such as painting of the village hall.”

Nasavu Women’s Group has 47 members.
