The Fiji Rugby Union has congratulated Waisale Serevi for being the first Fijian to be inducted into the Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame.

The Fijian 7s maestro was inducted in Oakland, California in USA during the 18th Annual Induc­tion and Community Award Ceremony last Fri­day.

“We are proud of Serevi’s latest achievement,” said FRU chief executive officer John O’Connor.

“The FRU would like to congratulate him on his success and also for his family for their support.”

Serevi is also the World Rugby Hall of Fame in­ductee and is supporting Fiji’s bid to World Rugby to host the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

The sevens magician is known for his prolific and entertaining skills including representing Fiji in the sport for over 21 years. His participa­tion included two victories in the Rugby World Cup 7s and also winning the their first World Sev­ens Series in 2005/06.
