Acting DCP Tudravu New Chair of Tailevu Provincial Council

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rusiate Tudravu has been selected as the new chairman of the Tailevu Provincial Council.
This was confirmed to Fiji Sun by Permanent Secretary of iTaukei Affairs Naipote Katonitabua yesterday.
“I can confirm to you that Rusiate Tudravu has been elected chairman of the Tailevu Provincial Council,” he said.
Acting DCP Tudravu said he had received his appointment letter and was ready to carry out his new role.
He said he was always happy to carry out duties outside the force and for this new appointment he was happy that he would work for his province.
He also thanked those who made the appointment and for having faith in him.
“I’m ready for my new role as chairman of the Tailevu Provincial Council,” he said.
Mr Katonitabua said changes had also been made to the chairman of Kadavu, Lomaiviti and Cakaudrove.
Ratu Jekesoni Yavalanavanua is the chairman of the Cakaudrove Provincial Council; Joji Qaranivalu is the new chairman of the Lomaiviti Provincial Council and Malakai Masi as chairman of Kadavu Provincial Council.
He said: “There are leadership qualities which have been taken into consideration in terms of the vision of these high-level leaders that have been appointed and also the wisdom they have in the current position, and also dealing with iTaukei communities, so looking at all those strength the Prime Minister have the confidence in them.”
According to Mr Katonitabua, their chairmanship starts on January 2018 and ends on July 2020.
