Senior officers of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Extension Division have been reminded of their roles in service delivery to farmers.

This was highlighted by the acting Director Extension Jone Sovalawa during the Crop Extension’s second-quarter meeting in Levuka last week.

“There is a lot expected of the Ministry of Agriculture from the Government and we must be on top of our game as the extension division plays a vital role in terms of agricultural production for food security and for the local and export markets,” he said.

“You must ensure that deadlines are met at all times and there must not be any delay in our service delivery.

“There is no time for complacency as we are geared towards the end of the financial year.”

Mr Sovalawa also reminded the senior extension officers to consider the quality of the work done by the officers on the ground.

“You are also to make sure the quality of the work that is conducted on the ground is done for the betterment of the farmers and for our stakeholders,” he said.
