Apostles Win AOG Inter-house

Apostles have won the Assemblies of God High School Inter-house competition at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.
The Apostles house collected 28 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze followed by Judges with 23 gold, 26 silver and 15 bronze, Prophets settled for third with 20 gold, 12 silver and 19 bronze while Kings finished fourth with 16 gold, 17 silver and 12 bronze.
Speaking to SUN sports yesterday, Head of Physical Education department Nawi Rokodulu said there was an increase in the number of student participation for the inter-house this year.
“There were about 600 students from the school that participated in the inter-house competition today. Slightly there has been improvement with the performance and participation of the athletes this year,” Rokodulu said.
“This year our students have geared up with their preparation and we have a week remaining for the Zone competition.
“And we are aware it would not be easy for us as competition will be tough.
“But from now on what the students have shown today, I believe we will make a difference in our overall performance this year.
“However, we are looking at fielding in 40 students for the upcoming zone one competition.
“This year we are hoping to get few medal prospects in the field events for the junior grade.
“Last year we only had two athletes from our school that qualified to compete in the Coca cola game and this year we hope to see the numbers increase.”
